True Scallop is characterized by the sided rim and the deep scalloped well of the plate. About 1853.
This 1890s body style has been discovered in a ewer and wash bowl set. The ewer is divided into four bulbous lobes. There are pleats at the spout and upper rim with vines surrounding the side and front lobes at the neck. The bottom rim also has the vine motif at the foot of each lobe. A C-shaped handle complements the piece with embossing on both sides.
This four lobed design is repeated in the bowl with an undulating rim and vines just below. A fantastic piece!
The body style is identified by the fancy crown-like finial. The medallion in the middle of the finial also appears in the middle of the handles. Holloware pieces have large bracket handles.
A bulbous body style with ribbing that covers the bottom portion of pieces in a "fan" or "shell" pattern.
Prize Bloom is a well named body style. It features blooms not only on the finial but on the spout and the looping handle.

The syndenham body style was introduced by T & R Boote in 1853. It achieved instant popularity and thus was copied widely. The three potters (Livesley and Powell, Anthony Shaw and Edward Walley) decorated their Wrapped Sydenham versions with a variety of treatments. Collectors will find traditional Tea Leaf (Shaw) , Scallops (Walley) and Lustre Band (Livesley & Powell) motifs. FInials may also vary - Shaw may have a bud finial ahile Walley feature an acorn finial. Patton also made wares in this body style.
This handsome body style includes embosing of vines and buttercup looking flowers. Pieces have a slightly flared spout that rises above the neck of pouring vessels.
The finial on this body style is a fig lying atop a bed of leaves. Pieces are decorated with thick copper banding.
