Elegantly embossed near the base and surrounding the finial, this body style was the perfect complement to the table linen of the period.
The lids of holloware pieces feature fleur-de-lis streamers and wreaths culminating in the tied bow finial. This style is listed as Bow Knot in Dieringer's White Ironstone China Plate Identification Guide. Since the name "Bow Knot" has been used as the title for WIlkinson's bath set body style, we have modified it to "Bow Tie."
Styled after the Johnson Brothers Tracery body style, these pieces feature beading near the base of the cups and a botanical vine design embosed on the saucers and plates.
Holloware pieces feature both the Tracery-style beading and the botanical design.
Usually found in white ironstone, these Tea Leaf decorated examples are rare indeed.

The scroll body style is thought to be Alfred Meakin's earliest style adorned with the tea leaf motif. Scroll is identified by the copper lustre decoration found at the finials and handles. The keyhole arch finial is also an identifying element.
Johnson Brothers' elaborate Acanthus features embossed elongated leaves. Even flatware pieces such as ordinary plates and bowls are decorated with triangular shaped leaves on the rim border. Holloware pieces such as the ewer and the sugar bowl have deeply ruffled melon ribs. This body style is sometimes confused with Chelsea.
Dignity is a bulbous body style of the late 19th century. Its shape is reminiscent of a Victorian matron in her heyday. The fluted body is embellished with a botanical embossing emanating from the upper handle terminals. Teapots also show this embossing on the opposite side of the handle terminal high above the spout.
The circular arch finial and C-shaped handles are other attributes on holloware pieces.
The tiny foilage motif is found embossed six times around the rim of plates. Holloware pieces such as the covered vegetable dish have heavily embossed foilage in addition to the tiny motifs
This round style is characterized by deeply incised loops covering the entire surface of holloware pieces. The loop design is also adapted to handleless cups. Grand Loop is found with a variety of copper lustre treatments including unusual botanical motifs.
The name for this oval body style is derived from the berry-like clusters on the finials of covered holloware pieces. Embossing on the body resembles tall stalks with leaves and berries at the upper end.
Elsmore & Forster's bulbous style with embossed laurel wreaths is lavishly decorated with brilliant copper lustre. The neck is marked with vertical ribs and thumbprints while only ribbing marks the lower body and shaped base. Copper lustre adorns the twisted rope finials and upturned handles of holloware pieces. The copper lustre dotted bands on the necks and lids of holloware pieces can also be found on the rims of plates, platters, relish/pickle dishes, cups and other flatware.
