Biography

Hyacinth features an embossed hyacynth under the handle near the top where the handle attaches to the rim The embossing extends across the face of the body on the upper third of pieces such as creamers. Cochran applied the pre-tea leaf motif in copper lustre to this body style.

This late Clementson Brothers bulbous square body style presents a very sturdy appearance. The angular lines and wide horizontal band at the terminals of the bracket handles are a precursor of the Arts and Crafts movement that supplanted Victorian fussiness.

A square style from the same blank as Bullet, Daisy features a square faceted knob finial and daisy rosettes at handle corners. It has a very pronounced flared shape which indents sharply to the bracket foot base.
