Alfred Meakin - Scroll - MR - Mug Tom and Jerry

An unusual piece.  This mug is part of a Tom & Jerry set as indicated by the gold lustre lettering that says "Tom & Jerry".  A "Tom & Jerry" was a popular 19th century hot beverage typically served around the Christmas holiday.  It consists of eggs, sugar, vanilla and an alcholic addition of your choice (rum, brandy, etc.).
